Who is ready for a great Independence Day weekend in Morton? The City of Morton is excited to welcome residents, families, friends, and visitors for another year of community traditions, hometown fun, and patriotic celebration.
From the Firecracker Run and Grand Parade to the Firemen's Pork Chop Feed and fireworks at dusk, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Mark your calendars and make plans to celebrate with us on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4, 2026.

Firemen's Keg Shoot
Kick off the celebration with the annual Firemen's Keg Shoot.

Saturday, July 4
Firecracker Run
Start your Independence Day with the Firecracker Run at 8:00 a.m. Whether you're running or walking, it's a great way to begin a day of celebration.
Museum Open House
The Morton Area Historical Society Museum will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Stop in to explore local history and learn more about the stories that shaped our community.
Senior Center Luncheon
Enjoy lunch and fellowship at the Morton Senior Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Hot Dog Feed at the Museum
Grab a bite to eat during the museum's hot dog feed from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Flea Market and Vendors in the Park
Spend time browsing local vendors and flea market booths throughout the day in Morton City Park. There is always something unique to discover.
Veterans Round Table
Join local veterans and community members for the Veterans Round Table at the museum beginning at Noon.
Grand Parade
One of the highlights of the celebration returns at 1:00 p.m. Bring a lawn chair, gather along the parade route, and enjoy an afternoon of hometown pride and community spirit.
Free Bounce Houses
Kids can jump, play, and burn off some energy with free bounce houses from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Morton Fire Department Pork Chop Feed
The Morton Fire Department's annual Pork Chop Feed will be served from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Come hungry and support the volunteers who help keep our community safe year-round.
Kids' Pedal Pull
Young competitors can test their strength and have some fun during the Kids' Pedal Pull beginning at 5:00 p.m.
Patriotic Sing-A-Long
Gather at the museum at 7:00 p.m. for an evening of patriotic music and community fellowship.
Fireworks at Dusk
No Morton 4th of July Celebration would be complete without fireworks. Wrap up the day with a spectacular fireworks display at dusk and celebrate America's birthday with family, friends, and neighbors.
