The City of Morton is known for many things, but nothing brings the community together quite like our annual 4th of July Celebration. Every year, families, friends, and visitors gather for a day filled with exciting activities, friendly competition, delicious food, and patriotic spirit. But none of it happens without the help of dedicated volunteers—and we need you!
Be a Part of Something Special
The 4th of July Committee is responsible for organizing all the fantastic events we’ve come to love. In past years, the celebration has featured:
- Softball, kickball, volleyball, and bean bag tournaments for some friendly competition
- Food stands and beer gardens in partnership with the Morton Area Chamber and local vendors
- Kids’ activities like bouncy houses, kiddie trains, and face painting
- A community-wide 5K for runners and walkers of all ages
- The Veterans Sing-a-long to honor those who have served
- A flea market showcasing unique finds and local crafts
- And much more!
This event is a tradition that defines our community, and we want to make sure 2025 is our best celebration yet. But we can’t do it without your help!
How You Can Get Involved
Whether you have a knack for organizing, love working with kids, or just want to lend a hand where needed, there’s a place for you on the team. We’re looking for volunteers to help with planning, setup, coordinating events, and day-of logistics. Even if you can only spare a little time, your contribution will make a big impact!
Our first planning meeting is this Thursday, February 20th, at 6:30 PM at Morton City Hall. We encourage everyone—whether you're a longtime resident or new to the area—to join us and be part of something special.
Let’s work together to keep Morton’s 4th of July Celebration thriving! If you have questions or want more information, contact us. We can’t wait to see you there!
